Well... The earlier versions did not have the Pod so it's not entirely wrong unless it IS ment to be a Variant D Modell.

Well you can tell that this is the current AH-64D - the big factor that shows it in this picture is the laser warning receiver on the tail section. Early AH-64D versions were not incorporated with the laser warning receivers

Actually, the AH-64D has the 'Longbow' Fire Control Radar system above the main rotor. This one doesn't, so it's most likely the AH-64C.
