I'm honestly surprised that Long-Ears here is as popular as she is. Not that I think she doesn't deserve it in fact I'm quite glad, I've always been into this kind of character. It just never seemed like all that many other people were, so her popularity puzzles a bit.

I can understand the fixation.

Rumi is "the right kind of furry," in that she has specific animal features (like the rabbit ears and poofy tail fur) but that's pretty much it. She is otherwise a fully functional, and sexy, human being. Even her face is normal, to human standards.

While I do understand that reasoning, I was talking less about her animal traits and more about her musculature. While certainly not the ripped Mr. Universe with boobs that some people are into, she is also powerfully built in an obvious and noticeable way. Add to that being an aggressive, confident badass, and you get a character type that's usually kind of divisive. I mean Captain Mizuki from OPM had her moment to shine, but unless it's just my imagination it was not on this level at all.

Maybe it's BECAUSE of the bunny traits. Kemonomimi are always popular, after all.

I've personally found that rabbit-girls are among the more tolerable "furry-types" on the internet. Right along with Cat-girls, and Cow-girls. Those seem to be the three most popular "types."

On the other hand, you don't see a whole lot of "Dog-girls," "Horse-girls," or "Pig-girls." Probably because those animals are more associated as male-type animals, while rabbits, cows and cats are associated more with ladies.
