well not really, why use conventional weapons if the aragami's weakness is the god arc? and it does not eat the aragami itself but the core.

It does eat aragami, well parts of it at least... And turns these aragami cells into oracle cells which are passed from Blade arc to Gun arc for ammo (they never really mention how this works though), or "digested" to activate burst mode.

In the case of new types these cells are used to copy abilities of said aragami in the forms of limited special ammo, on top of activating burst mode.

Removing the core only "kills" the specific aragami it was removed from. Cores are used to create new god arc attachments.
