I absolutely loved Ashina Castle. Its location, layout, and design were really stood out to me, though a lot of details made no sense (e.g. battlements only accessible to Ninjas, the defensive layout of the outer layer of the castle, indoor architecture...)

That is a general thing in video games. The layout of any environment doesn't make any sense in the real world.
