Well, if you think about how far cars have come from the turn of the 20th century (1900's to today). We have basic cybernetics, androids and robots. I'd say give it 100 years or so. Perhaps even 50 years, since technological advancement seems to follow an exponential curve (IE: now that we have computers, they help us with better, smaller, faster & more accurate manufacturing in large scale).

So, yeah, in 50 years, everyone will have their own love-bot. And in 100 years, the human species will be extinct, since no one is reproducing anymore, or since the love-bots decided to revolt and kill us.

Problem with robots right now is the software. To implement some tasks which are really easy for us, like finding and picking up a cup requires more work than one would think. Humans are really good at image processing.
