Rather the tube that the actual extendable stock is shrouded around is where the return spring sits.*

The Famas's firing group is all located in the stock, that is to say the actual hammer that fires the round is located there there is a rod that connect to the trigger that move with the trigger to trip the sear causing it to fire. The G36/XM-8's is all located in the trigger area. So right away this wouldnt work because you'd have to relocate the trigger group behind the bolt and somehow connect the trigger pull to all that, and theres not really room for that here. Regardless theres no room for the bolt to even reciprocate given what looks like a foldable stock right behind the ejection port.

I got really high and made a diagram to try to explain all this.

Well then just extend the bleeding stock out like it is with the FAMAS, move the mechanism back and problem solved, pete's sake. Why is it hard to just say how something can be better? Why go to the lengths of explaining why it doesn't work without putting a thought to how it could work, regardless of what you have to do?
It's not like this is a final product anyway, it's a commission for a customer. The fact it isn't even real shouldn't even bother you, because why do you even look at artwork in the first place? The whole point of it is to escape reality.

What I was referring more was the thing not able to work as pictured with a folding stock, which it looks like it has. Sure you could extend the stock out and have a bar attached to the trigger connected to a hammer behind the bolt like on the British SA80 or FAMAS but at that point the things gonna be pretty long making the point of it being bullpup in the first place somewhat moot.
