Or the forehead guard. The author/artist of naruto didn't invent any of those. Nor did he come up with "chakra", he did skew it to his own plot devise though. And since kids these days are apparently illiterate(or at least lack the drive to learn for themselves) most don't bother to look up where all the "Neat stuff" came from, if it was already around.
When FMA came out I decided to study the principles of actual alchemy. It's really quite interesting!
I know this is a wonky site to say this on but: Never stop learning.
