Mahiru as the protag? That would be interesting. She is a bit like Kaede. They're both "team moms" of their classes. They can be pushy, but always means well, they're nice, but aren't pushovers and fight back against people that threaten or bully them, like Fuyuhiko/Miu.

Not to plug anything, as I only found it after looking into the source's twitter, but they do have the first 1 1/2 chapters of Danganronpa 2 with Mahiru as the protag, though it's been on hiatus for a year and a half, sadly...
