No, its Hikari.

Red is to Ash as Hikari is to Dawn. Do not get the game characters mixed up with their video game/manga counterparts. They are not the same characters.

It depends, really. Ash from the anime is not the same as Red from the manga is not the same as Red from the video game. But Ash and Red are both dub names for the protagonist (Satoshi in the Japanese, IIRC), and Dawn is a dub name for Hikari, and is the name used for the female protagonist both in the Diamond/Pearl/Platinum games and in the corresponding anime.

TL;DR, is the first anon referring to Dawn as the anime character, or as the game character?

Thank you anon 3 for all of that. it's drives me nuts when people get them confused and, as serf said, get all "butthurt" over it. I honestly don't care much for the Dawn/cyrus combo, but I love the artwork in this picture...

isn't that all that matters!?
