The *only* connection to Legacy of Kain I can possibly imagine is the line "I'll drop you into hell," being very loosely similar to the idea of Raziel's execution in the Lake of the Dead at the beginning of Soul Reaver. Perhaps they further reference the series in the untranslated speech bubbles.
