I can answer that.
The optic is so you can see and engage targets further out, and with more precision than if you just used the holographic sight.

*sigh* The extra sight is not to extend the bloody range, why would you have your optic in two separate pieces like that? one for the reticle and the other to add range? yes that package comes in some sets but the bloody thing would attach directly onto the optic!

What your actually seeing is Either a night or thermal optic to enhance low to no light firing

No, night/thermal sights are much larger than that. That is a magnifiying optic, that very set up is used commonly in the Israeli Defence Force on their M4s etc.

the only problem is how close to the optic the holo sight is, it needs to be further up towards the front, this way they can be used seperately, one for at limited ranges inside buildings and the scope for mid-range sniping, iv'e seen that setup before as used by the israeli's and other counter terror, swat type outfits

Pointless.

Should use a flip-to-side EoTech magnifier, not a fixed magnifier.

Why even bother? Just use a normal scope.
