Too bad there aren't variations on this image with greater value coins and bills. Reimu's happy service face would be nice to see too.

Shrine prostitution is an ancient tradition of Gensokyo, Reimu-chan, one even you cannot always escape. The price the customer has to pay is absolutely symbolic and is in bad taste to pay or ask more than a pittance for service given.
Of course a priestess must not forcibly be happy to observe this tradition, Reimu-chan, as long she does dutifully what is expected from her. Duty is duty, and one's personal feeling in the matter are irrelevant.

#650337 Not quite, since the Yen they're using is closer in equivalence to the Yen from 1860s~ or so...
Their Yen is still backed by precious metals [collected and held by Yukari...]
1 Yen = 27grams of silver. Which is about $27.50 USD at time of writing... Or 4300 Yen in Outside World Japan.
[Yes I know it's a comment from over 13 years ago. Still making this one for the sake of other people later wondering as to the value of currency in Gensokyo]
