actually thats how the final (and i mean very last) chapter/episode ends... all the other sailor soldiers literally die except for her. Usagi (sailor moon) is granted a holy sword by the power of the silver crystal and is told she has to kill Sailor Galaxy to save both her and the world. Usagi uses the full extent of the silver crystal's power and becomes an angel and deals the finishing blow to Sailor Galaxy with the sword. She cries afterward because she took the life of another sailor soldier. OMG SPOILERS

As for anon 2; I never read the manga but the anime did not end that way. She was as crybaby as ever and did not look half as bad-ass as she does in this picture. Also, the sword did not come from the Silver Crystal.
