As epic as this looks, its not really an "even" battle at all.
Near the end of the Bio-Broly movie Goku says the real Broly is causing an uproar in hell, so he has to take care of him. Then later, on the Janemba movie, Goku says Janemba is, aside from Majin Buu, the ONLY opponent who has forced him to use the SSJ3.
So basically, Goku is able to beat Broly as a SSJ2. That would be a closer battle.

Seeing as the first 2 Broly movies were made before Goku was SSJ3 it woulda been kinda hard for Goku to go to that level to fight Broly. It's like saying he didn't go SS to fight Raditz...well yeah it didn't exist yet...

Also Piko went to go help Goku with Broly aswell. And you ASSUME they beat him. For all we know they calmed him down with a buttload of tranquilizers. XD
