It goes much deeper than some tsundere archetype. Helga's always liked Arnold ever since kindergarden but she's always hidden that affection underneath a tough-girl exterior because she doesn't want to be percieved as being soft. It may seem like a tsundere type thing but really Helga doesn't anyone to know she likes Arnold.

True; since the term "tsundere" is often applied to characters who hate *then* love the other character, strictly in the chronological sense as supposed to hiding affection that already existed under the guise of a cold attitude.
