Well... she already did strangle and hurt him with a knife before (and probably many other things as well), when she (at an age of ... maybe 10?) thought he was responsible for her mother´s death (he wasn´t, but made her believe that), whereas he always just took it. He also nearly killed himself to save another person... I don´t think he would shoot. But she looks the same as back then in time before she learned of his innocence...

Doesn't matter what the recoil on that shotgun does to his shoulder. He won't miss at that range, and if he's injured, so what? Half her head's splattered on the wall and he's still alive, albeit with one shoulder dislocated and possibly a bullet in the other.
