Oh, that's easy. What is going on:
Two protagonists, one in a mecha, other one IS a smaller mecha, are spiral-kicking a space monster that can take a planet to the face without flinching and controls black holes.
Then the black hole tries to explode and start a Big Bang and they stop it.
All in all, this is a series that is practically fundamental to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
