... This would have been a much better ending. I agree. But unfortunately, Blizzard is filled with more D&D fanatics and less Final Fantasy fanatics, so they will never come up with such a good ending.
Also, Anon8, The WOTLK cinematic was better. This just simply means Deathwing is on a pure, unbridled rage.

I'm Allaince but I can sympathize with Sylvanas. Especially once it was revealed that she tried to commit suicide after WotLK but was saved by the Val'kyr. What she saw was so traumatizing, she would have felt pity for Arthas if she wasn't too busy freaking out. In a way, she likely believes she's doing humans a favor when she has them brought back as Forsaken

Its funny, from playing the Wrath content, and doing Ice Crown Quests and the raid itself. The Funny thing is...Arthas was the one protecting all of Azeroth for the longest time from the Scourge.
The best he could in his orc soul possessed body, held the Lich King Back from letting the Scourge run rampant and doing what the Lich King Set out to do. Bring Undeath, in which The Lich King had to cut out his own heart to weaken Arthas, but he was still there, doing every little bit to hold the Lich King Back, and luckily the heroes of Alliance and Horde, were able to Put him to rest before he was completely gone.
My theory and feelings on the Wrath content.
