The artist put it as an overly exaggerated depiction of the orders soldiers are forced to carry out... or something to make a "cruel" image according to their comment of it on their website. The HUD is probably similar to a game or two, but they make no mention of it.

lol, anon2 thinks this pic is an "overly exaggerated depiction" of orders soldiers are forced to carry out... He clearly has no idea of the shit that actually goes on in wars and what soldiers have to go thru and try to live with.

In case any other similarly clueless individual is reading this, just know: soldiers are often forced to commit vastly much more atrocious things than merely killing innocent strangers.

Actually, according to military laws from the genova convention, shooting civilians like this is prohibited... however, that is not to say people still don't do it. Especially outside of modern countries.
