Speaking as a blind person(I'm here largely for the comments and notes), it would make for sense for the joke to be it's a box of Cheerio's but she was expecting Fruit Loops than holding the box upside down. Flap shapes make it pretty obvious which end of the box is the top, and feeling pieces of cereal through the bag can greatly narrow down the kind of cereal.
