Is this a Metal Max Returns nod? I clearly remember that the Tokyo City Hall (which in the game was called ''The Devil's Tower'') was destroyed EXACTLY in this fashion (right tower broken over the half).

That said, it was an epic game, and Hase Yu is one epic artist. Nuff said.
