u got it wrong. the time skip was a preperation for the crew on thier journey into the new world. as it was pre time skip , none of the crew was strong enough to go against the big names including the pirates and marines as shown in the crew disapearance arc. instead of kubo wasting our time on fillers on powering up he went straight to the point *which is what he does best mind you*


same thing happened in naruto , but unlike naruto - one piece's time sjip actually served a purpose
