I can understand killing Makoto, that piece of shit needed to die! Admittedly, I was not too fond of Sekai either, she was what you would call a siren (if anyone here knows about Greek mythology). Kotonoha is the ONLY character I feel sympathy for and COMPLETELY understand why she went nuts. The poor thing was treated horribly by Makoto and still she tried to make it work until she couldn't. I read the manga too, that was messed up as well!

Never watched the anime or read the manga.

Watching all the possible endings of the video game/visual novel was enough. At least some of those endings were nice enough to let Kotonoha, Makoto, and Sekai live (though, if Makoto died, he pretty much brought it on himself).
