god I hate the movies. (for most anime really)
they spend the entire movie setting up the plot,
introducing new characters,
having them grow through your story telling

then conclude the movie by destroying everything you just built up
so that it doesn't have to tie into the rest of the show.

it's the most lazy form of story telling I've ever heard of.
