In case anyone is wondering, she is wearing real Dragon Quest armor. That is the Sacred Armour and the Scholar's Circlet.

It looks good on her.

It is armor, in a fashion. Anyone seeing her wearing that is not going to be planning to kill her. Anyone seeing her wearing that, and in trouble, is going to want to help her.

So it is practical, from a certain point of view.
