Ya know, DBS being garbage aside Chi-Chi has got to the best character we don't see nearly enough of...
Ya ever think she doesn't go to these tournaments and shit because she can't bare to see him in pain? To watch him struggle? Like, yeah sure "hurr durr Goku always wins" memes right? But he also fuckin dies pretty often. He pushes his body beyond its limits in his pursuit of victory.
I don't know. I think I get WHY Chi-Chi doesnt like Goku fighting more now, when you kinda realize what exactly happens every time Goku leaves the house to fight these battles. The amount of pain he has to go through during these fights, especially like in the ones against foes like Jiren.
Where everyone else sees Goku as the goofball hero, here to save the day. Chi-Chi sees her husband getting beaten, bloody, and bruised just so he can stand back and charge right in for more while nobody does anything to stop him. She sees the father of her children gamble with his life, potentionally leaving Goten without a dad.
So she just stays at home. She buys into the "Goku always wins" meme because she has to believe that even though he left, no matter what, he'll walk through that door. Bruised, bloody, and broken but he'll walk right back through that door and when he does he's gonna be hungry...

i love how people use spots where you see only parts of things to reinvent the bad writing of z!
hey, just for curiosity, how people deal with z stuff like vegeta fight for arcs using zenkai boost to jump from 19.000 to less than 45.000,but uh-oh we need to shove in a fanservice moment so even if he runned away from goku at 60.000 and ginyu at 120.000 all the sudden 15 minutes of sleep(yes,it really happened) and can challenge frieza who had 530.000 in a way that destroy any credibility and tension?
thank goodness Super anime came and saved us from that!

Damn, Anon #2214037... That hit close to home.
It'd be one thing if Super as a whole was just a mediocre to passable follow-up/interquel to DBZ that we could all just acknowledge for exactly what it is, collectively roll our eyes at the glaring flaws and get on with it. No sugarcoating things or making excuses. That isn't what happened though.
Instead the whole fandom was split up and formed into spiteful, condescending tribes that constantly try to pick fights with each other and prove their superior tastes. You can't just be a Dragon Ball fan anymore, you have to qualify your stance and be judged harshly for your preferences. Don't care for Super's anime, but still really enjoy the manga? Them's fightin' words! You're not enjoying Dragon Ball correctly! You're not a REAL fan, you hater! Vice versa, etc., etc.
More than Super being a flawed series, the fractured community is the real tragedy here. Super has turned just about every Dragon Ball related forum and comment section on the internet into a giant shit flinging contest. No matter where you stand on the series, it sucks being a part of a fandom so hatefully divided.
