Why does she even need a scope? She can see 2440 miles away.

That's nice and all, but it doesn't really help with aiming a gun at that range.
To start with, iron sights don't really give you a pinpoint for where you are aiming at. Once can get pretty accurate with iron sights, but when you get to the point where you have to match a little speck clear off in the distance with a sight dozens of times wider on your gun, it doesn't really matter how good your vision is. Scopes, on the other hand, give a very clear indicator of where your gun is pointed at. Unlike iron sights, where you have to put conscious effort into keeping the front and rear sight aligned, it just gives you a point, line, or cross to align on your target. Even a scope with absolutely no zoom can be quite a bit easier to aim with than iron sights when firing at something far away.
However, scopes have an additional advantage. A good sniper scope will have markings so you can angle your shot for wind and bullet drop. Iron sights have absolutely nothing like this, and in fact, when shooting at something way off in the distance, it's likely that when you angle up for bullet drop, your iron sight will completely cover the target from your range of vision, which would make it impossible to get a good shot without guessing. Especially since, like I said, it's going to be a tiny speck clear off in the distance several dozen times smaller than the sights themselves.
Momi could look at them and count the number of hairs sticking out of her target's nose with her naked eye, and then go and try to hit it with iron sights and end up completely off target just because that's how iron sights are.
