Reminds me of a scene from Enchanted Arms.


Atsuma (the main character) hasn't eaten in days, so Karin (the closest thing to a female lead) makes him a meal. She isn't exactly the best cook though, and the "food" she made looked so bad it had to be censored. Atsuma didn't like the looks of it, but he was so hungry and he didn't want to hurt Karin's feelings, so he ate it anyway.

The first bite nearly killed him.
