Anon2 they only die if you kill them. If you use Tranquiliers and other non-lethal weapons like the custom shotfun with v-ring rounds then you'll notice the remain alive in their suits. I find actually funny that the game rewards you more for being a pacifist but gives you a buttload of deadly weapons....
