SamaEL mostly bases his characters on items from a Japanese online RPG called GetAmped. The in-game item here is a mask for berserkers, which causes the character to laugh whenever they see blood. It's made out of the wood of the Rajaijah tree "from which the world's strongest nerve poison can be obtained."
In the Tintin books, Rajaijah juice is a poison which causes madness, used by a fakir on blowgun darts.
