Don't think Mei can surpass Tsunade. Mei's destructive force is humongous, but firstly, Tsunade is older, having more experiencie at her side. Also, she regenerated most of Konoha's survivors from Pain's attack. Imagine all that power focused only in her body: She may be even able to take some of those lava shots without sustaining any damage. And in close combat, I think Tsunade is pretty able to take Mei's head off in a single punch.

Btw, I'm with you, Anon8, and I think they are equally beautiful.
