Neji was also in School the year before them. All these guys were in the same class. They would not have known Neji cause then Lee would also be there.

At first it was shown that everyone dissed Naruto all day erry day and he had no friends.

Later on it's shown that he hung out with Shikamaru, Chouji and Kiba alot. He even hung out with Sasuke and they seemed to understand each other.

So why did Naruto be all crybaby about having nofriends? It seems that he had 3 good friends and 1 close acquintance at least.

Nah Anon2, kid Neji was pretty cute if I remembered correctly. The only time he was a bitch was a chunk of pre-time skip genin exams or whatever.

Anyways, I'm not a big fan of angst filled pasts but it's too bad we didn't see more of these flashbacks. :(
