No this is most likely a ha-go tank. Based on the French Renault tank. Built and designed during the thirties, never updated or replaced during WWII, achieving the failures one would expect against the newer generation of tanks like the Sherman.

It's definitly an M3, It just has a Commander's Copula on the turret, and lacking the Sponson .30 Caliber Machine Guns. A modified M3A1 Perhaps? Likely just the artist liked the tank, and put a Japanese flag on it.
