Every anime comedy uses the Osaka prototype for one character. They usually don't look the same though.

I wouldn't call Nano the Osaka of Nichijou, she's actually responsible and acts as a guardian (or at least tries to) for Hakase.

You can't really compare them that easily especially considering that Mai look just like a bored Osaka with glasses.
