It would be better if the ropes around their ankles also wrapped around the bottom of their feet. That way, if one of them tried to rest their heels on the ground, the other would be dragged up into the air, helplessly. Essentially, either girl could rest herself and ease the situation, but only at the expense of the other. To further complicate things, the girl who ends up hefted into the air has no way to reverse the situation.
It would be interesting to tie up two girls like this for a week (naturally, with their consent), and see what comes of the situation. It would be an interesting social experiment.
