18. Animal Crossing
Two years ago, I bought Animal Crossing.
Me and my sister played it for about a month, but then got bored of it.
I was used to recommending video games to my parents, and Animal Crossing was, for that part, a very good one to recommend.
I chose a house for my mother, and since than my mother became immersed in the game.
My mother was suffering from polio, which made her physique like a child; she also had stiffening complication.
She could not get outside except for regular shopping or visiting church.
My mother had to be bound to the wheel-chair everyday, at home; so the Animal Crossing was sufficient to give her some consolation; and she played it for many many hours, immersing herself in it.
My mother paid back all of the rent,
and collected every fossil in the game.
and enjoyed a variety of activities, such as collecting every fossil in the game.
My mother kept playing Animal Crossing, even when my brother and I had stopped playing it a long time ago.
But she had to give up playing as her health deterioriated,
and finally, the next year, she passed away.
Me and my brother played it for about a month, but then got bored of it.
For a long time, I had forgotten about Animal Crossing - that I never played it again for over one and a half years.
But today I returned to the village.
There were weeds all over the places,
and the village folks questioned me where my mother and I had been.
Then I opened my mailbox...
and it was full of letters and presents from my mother.
and all the letters had the same sentence:
"I am sending some presents that you will like, thinking you.
I love you.
Mom."
and all the letters had the same sentence:
"I am sending some presents that you will like, thinking you.
I love you.
Mom."
Even when I stopped playing the game, my mother was always sending me presents (inside the game.)
Looking back, at that time, I was being sarcastic towards her doing this and that;
but, now I finally realized that she spent her time to just get the presents for me.
This story may sound untrue, but I only wish to share my feelings to all of you.
I hope that we are able to cherish our parents, as they always do to us when they are around.

This is a true story from loliel; you can look up his original story in his blog (in Korean).

"the mom is just an in game character lol"
I'm pretty sure the things were sent under her character name, the artist probably just used mom to not confuse the readers.
