This is amusing. They forgot Misato's scar yet they remember the patch to distinguish the Asuka yet don't change her A12 receptors (as Asuka makes point to wear them to distinguish herself as an EVA pilot.)

Asuka has a sweet expression that doesn't look forced. That should be the first clue.
