Well, Dawn's manga counterpart is called Platinum.
Giratina is the mascot of Platinum Version, so its no mystery in my book.

Um yes he is... The black/white games have three rivals, N, bianca, and cheren <-- and these two don't count because they're always trying to help you out instead of beat you and they follow you around everywhere.
