I really feel people forget by what mean Tsukune has become "strong and badass" in the manga.
He deserves no special credit for this.
He was just lucky to receive Moka's blood... His power is artificial. Even if it had been anyone else having a minimum of courage and will power, it would have given the same result.

IMO, Tsukune is highly, highly overrated.
