@Lurkerella: Well, the artist seems to have based each character off of their game counterparts rather then their PokeSpe counterparts. Since Brendan doesn't seem to share Ruby's scar in the games, it isn't in this artwork. While he hasn't been shown with his hat off, I doubt the games would have any of their main characters scarred, unlike PokeSpe.
However, if this was meant to represent the PokeSpe cast, I would agree with you wholeheartedly.
