Something similar to this DID happen in one of the old Gozilla movies. Even as a kid it looked surreal.

BTW, Werepuppy, something 'similar' didn't happen, this is EXACTLY what happened. This is just a pic with redesigned monsters. The whole movie was surreal so why would you even notice?
