That's because those 'good deeds' can be seen as censoreship, since you are altering someone else's work for the sake of what YOU want, not for any truly practical reason. Especially if its omitting stuff.
If someone complains about the glasses, tell them "Tough shit. That's the way the image is. Deal."
They want it without glasses, tell them to draw their own damn art, or commission someone to make an original for them. Altering someone else's original shows a great deal of disrespect for the original artist.

It is not censoring, it is sort of remixing. Censoring would be doing this and somehow deleting the original.
