Just so you know that's not a gun, it's a sword. Those shells contain photon energy which is released when she pulls the trigger, making her attacks stronger. It's like Squall's gunblade, even though it has "gun" in the name it can't shoot projectiles at all.

In short, the "gun" tag should be replace by the "sword" tag.
