...if They only had made Naruto female, the manga/anime might have actually had some merit to it. The way Naruto acts is more fitting for a main female heroine. Have her hair be short as a child as well and make the readers think she is male, her "sexy jutsu" would just be a jutsu where where hair would be longer and nothing else ect. Then after the timeskip she could have long hair all the time.

I'm not saying it would have made the show actually good, but at least it would have given us a token "moe" character in the show... a character we actually cared about.
