That is not assault rifle. Definition for assault rifle is selective fire modes between Semi- and full auto.
As far as i am concerned, barrett cannot fire full automically.
Barrett is semi-auto, you don't have to reload after every shot.

Even if a rifle is bolt action you don't actually reload after each shot, you just have to manually eject the empty shell after each shot.
I agree the Barrett (A.K.A. peace through superior fire power at it's finest.) isn't an assault rifle but the only firearms which need to be reloaded after each shot were "Single Shot" pistols and rifles used back a long ass time ago (Think Pirates of the Caribbean.)

@anon2 theres actually a world war 2 pistol that is single shot. forgot name. also barrett was once upon a time single shot with manual reload.
