Or he doesn't touch his head....
His power will work by either touching the source of a power, the thing affected by the power, or the pathway by which the power is transmitted. He has done every one of those in the series. And he has dispelled mental control on himself by randomly touching his own head before, in only the 2nd arc I might add.

nope, he still can be effected...remember when he's fighting Aureolus Izzard? Aureolus "commands" him to forget, suffocate, lie on the ground, etc. and is the only fight where he doesn't rely on his Imagine Breaker to win.
if Touma didn't figure out the flaws on Aureolus' alchemy, which is to 'convince' him that his alchemy aren't affecting Touma; it's impossible for Touma to win.
