She comes from Virie, where they have extremely advanced technology, but as she explains, their phones are "stylish" as she begins to pretend to hold an old-style phone where you hold one piece to your mouth, and one piece to your ear. However, it is later revealed that her sensei, whom she talks to on the other end, is holding two cans with strings attached.

She simply doesn't know how to use a cell phone.
