They were never called a race, it was stated that they were built by an ancient race to run the mines. And Zelda is still midieval, the robots were only in one part of the game where there were ruins of the ancient civilization and the robots only were activited by using Timestones to create pocket time zones into the past, that's pretty fantasy to me, so don't complaining.

Meh, i'm glad the legend of zelda have a diversity of creatures, races and technology different from the overused medieval fantasy lore like elves and dwarfs and trolls, which almost every medieval fantasy game have, at least you get to see something different in Zelda and I hope it stay that way.
