@anon 3 - Incredibly powerful pilots has always been common among Reals. Just look at all the psychics that star in Gundam. If anything, it's more worrying that, sometimes, the animators forget that Scopedogs take damage.

Of course it wasn't a single person. I meant the same guy worked on both (as director IIRC). It's like saying Tomino was the creator of Gundam and Dunbine; he played a major role in making them but he wasn't alone.
