Phoenix is the Cosmic Abstract of Life. She can and has fought Galactus by herself, has reality warping and molecular manipulation powers(she can and has turned people to solid gold) and can destroy entire star systems on a whim, and indeed does so to feed. The only thing stopping the Phoenix from going all out is the fact it's bound to Jean Grey.
